Outfit of the Week: October 12-16 (Fall 2020)

Prologue: I find OOTWs are a great way to share your style and get ideas for new outfit combinations. Here's what I wore this week. Also note that a mask has been omitted in these pictures. I typically alternate between my 7 month old painters mask and a cloth mask—the one with loose pieces of fiber on the inner layer that itches your nose, and yet, is invisible to the naked eye when you try to remove it.

Monday

I decided to start the week off with a casual look: relaxed jeans, a white t-shirt, a green plaid shirt and white Stan smiths [as shown on the left]. It was an apt outfit to accompany the crisp New England weather this time of year. As soon as I popped these clothes on, I felt ready to move forward with my day. I plopped onto the couch and passed the time by staring outdoors; watching carefree birds and squirrels conspicuously move from branch to branch to grass to branch.

Tuesday

I typically run errands on Tuesdays and try to make a day of it. I wake up super early around noon, get ready around 7 pm, and proceed to do some evening grocery shopping. For this week, in particular, I opted for medium wash jeans, a t-shirt, a plaid over shirt and an old pair of sneakers [as shown on the left]. These days, the weather hovers around 60s Fahrenheit, so there are just enough layers in this outfit to stay warm and cool. Errand-Tuesdays are usually hectic days, so I like to end each Tuesday with a warm cup of mint tea. Cheers!

Wednesday

For Hump Day, I popped on a pair of loose jeans and a white top, which I layered with a relaxed button up shirt [as shown on the left]. To complete the look, I paired the outfit with my white kicks. By now I'm sure you've noticed some repetition in this week's OOTW: the Stan smiths! I've worn them just about every day for the last 3-4 years. Thanks to being sized as Big Kids 5M, which is also a Women’s size 7, these shoes were a bargain just under 50 bucks. Yep. They’re perfect for the flat footed human and ooze comfort. Quality, style, bargain, reliability, comfort, flexibility, and longevity? Ahh yes, the ingredients of true love true shoe love.

Thursday

Toward the end of the week, I ran out of ideas, but popping on this outfit felt like a great way to start the day [as shown on the left]. It's a mashup of some of my "oldies but goodies" pieces: a relaxed long sleeve, blue jeans and Stan smiths. The t-shirt is relatively new compared to the other items; it seems like the turnover of my white t-shirts tends to be faster than the average clothing item. I have to say, I felt like a breath of fresh air wearing this while aimlessly walking around the house.

Friday: End of the week. I decided to copy yesterday’s outfit and lounge around the house. I didn’t have any plans or places to be on this day...or really any day, but these clothes had to be worn. This outfit has a classic vintage vibe with an androgynous appeal, making it the versatile look for anyone and everyone. Highly recommend!

Until next time
